About the position
NHH in Bergen, Norway, invites applications for two positions as Assistant Professor at the Department of Strategy and Management. Both positions are linked to the research center Digital Innovation for Growth – DIG – and ongoing research within business model innovation and ecosystems. The candidates’ research will be part of a new research grant from the Research Council of Norway – “Business model innovation and ecosystems for seamless transactions in retail – BEST in Retail”.
The project aims to handle the digital disruption, maintain the diversity in the Norwegian retail landscape, and prevent the closure of business in rural areas by providing a competence boost to face the new digital reality.
We are seeking ambitious candidates early in their careers, who can document relevant research and teaching capabilities within business administration or adjacent fields. We encourage candidates with a background in strategy, entrepreneurship, or marketing to apply. The Department offers a stimulating research environment with internationally renowned research groups in a wide range of fields, providing high quality research and teaching.
The position is for a duration of four years.
The applicants will be assessed based on an overall evaluation of documented professional competence, and a doctoral degree from an accredited institution is required. Scientific competence will be evaluated in terms of the amount and quality of research and the ability to publish in leading academic journals.
Faculty members at NHH are expected to be good teachers. The appointee is expected to be involved in teaching on average of one course per year and student supervision in degree programs at the master level. Formal pedagogical education and practical experience with teaching will count positively for the job.
In addition to submitting written documentation, possible appointees will be required to meet for an interview, and to give a trial lecture and/or a seminar.
Further inquiry regarding the position should be directed to the Managing Director of DIG, Professor Tor Wallin Andreassen (tor.andreassen@nhh.no).
Deadline for applications is 15 May 2021. This date also applies to the submission of publications/written work.
