Meet our new interns, Anna and Kristine!

In the Norwegian Fintech Cluster, new competence and creative thinking are always welcome, we are therefore so pleased to welcome two new interns onboard this Spring!

Anna Olivia Mohaugen and Kristine Wernle Teigen are currently studying for a Master's degree in Innovation and Management at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) and will spend the next ten weeks with us.

During their time with the cluster, they will be working with different tasks connected to different projects such as marketing, workshops, facilitating conferences, and other events. Anna and Kristine are excited and motivated to work as interns for NCE Finance Innovation, so we of course asked them to share how their experience has been so far.

How has your time with the cluster been so far?

- From the get-go, we have been able to challenge ourselves and have joined the team in various meetings just to get the lay of the land. We have felt included since the beginning and on our very first day, we got to join in on a workshop with one of the cluster members, which was very insightful. Ever since the learning curve has been steep, which is really fun!

- We have already been given multiple tasks to work on, and we’re excited to put our knowledge to use and learn as much as possible. Right now we are working on setting up and facilitating a workshop for students at the BEA Change Conference in a couple of weeks. We are also researching the cybersecurity space at the moment, working with the clusters annual tech conference, mcb tech and so much more. We also got to attend the cluster meet-up in March and met cluster members such as Sbanken, Tryg, Horde, Tink, and others.

What are you looking forward to during your internship?

- We both think it’s interesting to see how we can use the theory, tools, and models that we’ve learned throughout our studies more practically. We’ve already been included in many projects and gotten responsibility in different areas, and we expect to get even more as we acquire more knowledge.

- We are looking forward to learning more about the cluster and how the members can combine their knowledge and work together to develop new solutions and products. It will be interesting to see how the members exchange their experiences and collaborate to enable innovation in a way that’s useful for both parties.

Get to know our interns a bit more:

Kristine is a 24-year-old student from Ski, currently studying for a Master's degree in Innovation and Management. Before she moved to Bergen, she lived three years in Stavanger where she took her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Stavanger.

Kristine is very engaged in the student community and is part of two student organizations in Bergen. She is Deputy Head of Start Bergen, an organization working with innovation and entrepreneurship for students, and she is also Head of the Project group in Springbrettet. Through these voluntary positions, among other things, she became interested in the development and organization of projects, events, and conferences related to innovation and management. Kristine is therefore very excited to be a part of the Finance Innovation team.

Anna Olivia is a 26-year-old girl from Lillehammer. After she finished High School she went to the Norwegian armed forces. There she worked one year as a department representative and one year as a conscript representative of the Norwegian Armed Forces. Her main responsibility was to solve issues for the first-time serving soldiers and raise their cases to politicians and the top management of the military defense. This two-year experience made her interested in working and interacting with people, so she started a bachelor’s degree in HR management and leadership at Høyskolen Kristiania in Bergen. Here she found great interest in marketing, psychology, and organizational leadership.

After finishing her Bachelor she started a Master’s degree in Innovation and Management at Høyskolen på Vestlandet. Anna is a social and outgoing person who likes the idea of working with different organizations and people. She is looking forward to expanding her network and knowledge as an intern in Finance Innovation.
