Despite the Covid-19 pandemic and partial lock-down, the interdisciplinary ecosystem in the Fintech Hub has flourished. Several members of the cluster have joined forces to ensure future growth of new and innovative fintech’s, despite the challenges we all are facing. Among the Fintech Hub’s sponsors are Sparebanken Vest, DNB, Fana Sparebank, Tryg and Frende Forsikring. Academia is also well represented with the University of Bergen and the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), who find value in having close ties with the industry.

The Fintech Hub has during Covid-19 seen a massive growth for some of our startups. Horde has within a short time span grown from 1-15 employees and currently holds the Norwegian crowdfunding record (12 mNOK). The Fintech Hub has already witnessed the connection and collaboration between in-house investors and startups. We can clearly see that meeting places such as this provides unique conditions and possibilities for collaboration, innovation, and creation of new jobs, which benefit all of our members across the country.

The cluster is partly funded by Siva, Forskningsrådet and Innovation Norway, and they are quite enthusiastic about the opening of the Fintech Hub as well:
