Martin Hauken joined the cluster team in March 2026 as an ambitious internship trainee eager to learn, contribute, and take responsibility beyond his comfort zone. He is driven by high standards of quality in everything he delivers and brings a natural curiosity that fuels his desire to support and elevate the people around him.

During his internship, Martin aims to gain hands-on experience with the development and scaling of technological solutions, build a strong network within the fintech community, and deepen his understanding of how innovation ecosystems function in practice. He is particularly motivated by working side by side with ambitious teams that dare to take risks, experiment, and continuously learn from their experiences.

Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from HVL with a specialization in organization and management. His bachelor thesis explored how leadership can meet the expectations of Generation Z in the workplace. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Business with a specialization in Management and Innovation, while also complementing his studies with a part-time program in crisis management.

Before entering the fintech ecosystem, Martin gained leadership experience in the Norwegian Armed Forces, where he served as an instructor at the recruit school. The experience strengthened his interest in leadership, teamwork, and developing people. Alongside his studies, he has been actively involved in the student community, including serving as Chairman of the board in the student association for economics and administration at HVL, where he worked to build collaboration and engagement across student groups.

Throughout his internship at Finance Innovation, Martin hopes to contribute to ongoing cluster activities and take part in the planning and execution of the Norway Fintech Festival, while building meaningful relationships with startups, partners, and innovators across the ecosystem.

Martin thrives when he can help others grow. He is known for being reliable, trustworthy, easy to collaborate with, and for maintaining high standards even when working under pressure or limited resources. He believes that strong teams are built on trust, curiosity, and a willingness to learn together.

You can talk to Martin about topics such as finance, artificial intelligence, innovation processes, leadership, teamwork, and insights from the fintech ecosystem as he explores it from the inside.

Outside of work and studies, Martin enjoys staying active through running, spending time with friends, and travelling.
